Job summary

Abbott's Waukegan, IL location seeks an Application Architect for Manhattan Active Warehouse Management. The role requires deep MAWM expertise, configuration, and integration strategy to deliver cost-effective warehouse solutions and optimize operations.

The candidate will lead technical directions, collaborate with functional teams, and oversee testing, deployments and performance monitoring within MAWM environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or related field.
  • 8+ years' experience in full life cycle of WMS projects and warehouse processes.
  • Hands-on MAWM configuration, extensions and SCI reporting.
  • Experience with SAP integration and interfacing legacy/non-SAP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with functional groups to assess business needs and document requirements.
  • Provide technical advice on adoption/integration of new technologies and business impact.
  • Develop technical solutions and advise on costs and risks.
  • Serve as Manhattan Active functional configuration expert to develop and implement capabilities.
  • Configure modules to design optimal solutions; lead performance monitoring and upgrades.
  • Evaluate MAWM notes and upcoming releases; lead adoption discussions.
  • Drive operational improvements and guide the technical team to meet objectives.
  • Develop standards, publish findings and ensure policy compliance.

Opportunity

Our location in Waukegan, IL. currently has an opportunity for an Application Architect - Manhattan Active Warehouse Management.

This Manhattan Warehouse Management Solution (MAWM) configuration specialist will provide in-depth technical expertise and direction in the development and support of client area application systems/programming requirements and processes. For various size projects and system changes, they oversee and directly contribute to development and implementation of cost-effective solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Partner with the functional groups to assess business needs utilizing structured interview processes to establish business priorities and document clear requirements
  • Conduct investigation and collaborate with other technical subject matter experts to provide technical advice on adoption or integration of innovative technologies and corresponding business impact.
  • Develop alternative technical solutions; advise on options, risks, costs and benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities.
  • Serve as a Manhattan Active functional configuration expert to develop, test and implement significant new capabilities.
  • Configure applicable module(s) to design optimal solution.
  • Review, validate and enhance design, conduct performance monitoring and capacity planning; install, test and upgrade releases and associated products.
  • Evaluate Manhattan Active notes, new functionality, and upcoming releases for assigned modules.
  • Recommend operational improvements or devise innovative approaches to technical or process issues to meet business objectives.
  • Develop, motivate, and provide direction to technical team in a way that facilitates the creation of a team environment and enables team to fulfill the department's operation objectives.
  • Lead in the development of standards and procedures and publish/communicate findings via IOI’s, presentations, white papers, etc.
  • Comply with all applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
  • Required Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or another relevant discipline 8+ years’ combined experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer Engineering in each of the following:
  • 8+ years' experience in full life cycle of WMS projects.
  • 8+ years' experience of Warehouse processes module design, configuration, testing, including:
  • Hands on experience in configuration, extensions, SCI reporting of Manhattan Active Warehouse solutions (MAWM) and Warehouse Master data Warehouse: Inbound receiving, inventory management, put away, Quality inspection, picking, packing, and shipping and Integration to related warehouse Processes and peripheral solutions
  • Supply chain systems implementations, development, configuration, and support including warehouse management systems (WMS), warehouse control systems (WCS), and material handling equipment (MHE) Planning methods and deep knowledge of various strategies
  • Experience with peripheral systems and equipment such as label printing solutions, printers, scanners, MHE equipment such as conveyors, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), pick by light solutions
  • Sound knowledge of interface mapping and integration with legacy/3rd party applications that support the warehouse eco-system.
  • Handling and Storage Unit Management
  • Experience in facilitating resolution of cross-team integrated topics
  • Expertise in identifying root cause through analysis
  • Strong understanding of Technology teams and processes
  • Understanding of business operations and how they relate to customer support
  • Experience and knowledge in integrating SAP with non-SAP systems, including internally developed and off-the-shelf software.

  • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM)
  • Hands-on experience developing MAWM extensions with Manhattan’s ProActive developer tool
  • Hands-on experience deploying MAWM configurations and extensions between environments using Configuration Director toolset
  • Hands-on experience or working knowledge of SCI reporting with MAWM
  • SAP ECC and S/4 HANA integration knowledge.
  • Experience managing individual assignments within large WMS implementations strongly preferred
  • Cloud based implementation and strongly preferred
  • Misc: This is an onsite role at Abbott locations in IL. This is not a remote role/opportunity.

The base pay for this position is $113,300.00 – $226,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
