Job summary

Orange County Public Schools in Orlando is seeking a qualified professional to analyze, develop, test, implement and support enterprise business systems that serve district priorities and improve student services.

You will collaborate with district stakeholders, model professional ethics, and deliver reliable software solutions; ABAP and SAP ECC experience is preferred, with strong data analysis and reporting skills.

Qualifications

  • AA degree or equivalent with tech courses or related experience.
  • 2 years of experience in development lifecycle of enterprise computer applications; or Bachelor's in tech field.
  • Experience with distributed programming languages; ABAP in SAP ECC preferred.
  • 2 years experience with business system applications, support, methodologies and reporting.

Job description

Salary Schedule

To analyze processes to facilitate, test, implement, train and support enterprise applications in support of district priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate of Arts degree with courses related to technology from an accredited institution or pursuing an equivalent combination of related education, training and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the development life cycle of enterprise computer applications. Experience must have occurred within the past four years. Or a Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field.
  • Experience with distributed programming languages and methodologies. Experience with ABAP programming in an SAP ECC environment preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience with business system applications and support, methodologies, and reporting preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and commitment to decentralized decision‑making, and accountability for results. Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of the team to participate in the implementation of administrative business systems that achieve expected results. Analytical skills to review information, identify important issues and formulate alternative solutions to problems in area of responsibility. Knowledge of systems design techniques and business systems. Ability to remain current with changing technology as it relates to Systems Development. Knowledge of software applications and their corresponding functions. Ability to think and function logically in a multi‑tasking environment. Ability to plan work and effectively utilize time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Note Will total more than 100 percent as several activities may be performed at a one time.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide services that support the implementation and maintenance of enterprise automated business systems necessary for compliance with state statute, school board policy, and operational efficiency.
  • Work with business process owners and subject matter experts to acquire and keep up-to‑date with district operational processes at a level sufficient to analyze and support systems and processes of minimal to moderate complexity to resolve problems expeditiously, offering alternatives where appropriate.
  • Produce estimates of time to complete assigned tasks; maintain and meet agreed upon schedules that achieve desired results meeting quality expectations as district and Learning Community needs evolve.
  • Assist with preparing/creating documents for systems, components, and training programs as assigned.
  • Work as a team player to achieve results.
  • Participate in the analysis of business requirements for the business enterprise systems as they relate to business intelligence.
  • Develop technical skills in areas such as trouble shooting software, problem resolution, training and implementation of software features.
  • Keep the Assistant Director informed about issues and incidents about which they should be aware.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
  • Develop leadership in subordinates.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the lead.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Non-bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day.

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
