Job summary

Zip Appliance Repair & Service LLC is seeking an Appliance Repair Technician Trainee in Bakersfield, CA. This temporary, four-week program combines in-office classroom training with hands-on practice and field ride-alongs to teach fundamentals of appliance systems, diagnostics, and repair.

Upon successful completion, trainees may transition to an Appliance Repair Technician or Appliance Repair Sales Technician based on performance and strengths.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Interest in a skilled trade and/or service-based sales role.
• Mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn hands-on skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and apply feedback.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in residential environments.

Responsibilities

• Participate in classroom-style training and hands-on learning in-office.
• Assist experienced technicians during service calls and repairs.
• Learn to identify appliance components and common failure points.
• Support basic diagnostic and repair tasks under supervision.
• Observe and practice professional customer communication.
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance in customer environments.
