Job summary

Follett Higher Education is seeking an Apple Manager I for the Wake Forest University Bookstore in Winston-Salem, NC. This role oversees the Apple Department, managing inventory, visual merchandising, and licensed products under contract; hires, trains, and develops staff while coordinating promotions with the Home Office.

The manager will assist customers with product selections, leverage Follett systems, and ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• High School Degree or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of previous trade computer products experience desired.
• Advanced computer products knowledge. Typically requires approximately 5-8 years of experience in progressively more complex functions or businesses.
• May include 1-3 years of experience as a Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Drive customer initiatives focused on solutions-based selling and an exceptional customer experience.
• Provide leadership to the employees of the computer products department including assigning and evaluating work as well as interviewing, hiring and training new employees.
• May oversee technicians and repair operations, ensuring team members obtain and maintain appropriate certifications as required by licensing contracts.
• Diplomatically manage multiple commitments to customers, staff, and operations; assist customers in finding computer products.
• Manages special order functions and notifies customers; develop strategic partnerships with campus contacts and key decisions makers.
• Evaluate and propose appropriate orders to achieve sales goals and ensure inventory levels meet vendor requirements and campus expectations.
• Analyze sales trends and report to leadership; keep staff updated on current computer/tech products.
• May call vendors to verify price, availability, or order status; coordinate storewide promotions with other departments.
• Promotes cross-merchandising standards with the Course Materials Department Manager.
• Meets with faculty and staff to promote store services.
• Work with Store Manager and Home Office to develop strategies to impact sales and store profitability.
• Keeps up-to-date on current computer/technology products industry trends.
• May be required to acquire and maintain additional computer certifications.
• Checks that WinDSS ticketing processes are followed and that all merchandise is accurately ticketed.
• Verifies cashiers are using correct SKU numbers for events and returns; maintain accurate dump SKUing.
