Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a kernel engineer to optimize Apple Silicon workloads on enterprise-scale infrastructure. You will push kernel-level performance, develop compute kernels for AI workloads, and resolve bottlenecks at the hardware-software boundary.

Qualifications

Strong background in kernel engineering and low-level software development.
Experience optimizing compute workloads on specialized hardware; Apple Silicon experience is a strong plus.
Familiarity with GPU/NPU compute models and unified memory architectures.
Ability to read hardware documentation and use profiling/micro-benchmarking tools.
Nice to have: ML infrastructure, HPC, or compiler/runtime engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Optimize kernel-level execution for Apple Silicon and maximize performance.
Develop and tune compute kernels for AI and agentic workloads across infrastructure.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks at the hardware-software boundary.
Collaborate with networking and runtime engineers to optimize end-to-end execution across chips.
