Position Overview
The Apple Manager I will oversee Apple Department operations, including inventory management and visual merchandising, while adhering to contracts with Apple and other licensed products. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and developing team members, coordinating sales promotions with the Home Office, and managing their execution in the store. The role also involves assisting customers by recommending computer products based on current product knowledge and manufacturer offerings. The manager demonstrates knowledge of Follett systems and strategies, effectively executes company programs and initiatives, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Collaboration with support partners such as Store Operations, RCMS, AP, HR, and Training is essential. Responsibilities

  1. Drive customer-focused initiatives emphasizing solutions-based selling and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  2. Provide leadership to the computer products department, including assigning and evaluating work, interviewing, hiring, and training staff.
  3. Oversee technicians and repair operations, ensuring team members maintain appropriate certifications as required by licensing contracts.
  4. Manage commitments to customers, staff, and operations diplomatically, assisting customers in selecting computer products.
  5. Handle special order functions and communicate with customers; develop strategic partnerships with campus contacts and key decision-makers within institutions.
  6. Evaluate and propose orders to meet sales goals, ensuring inventory aligns with vendor requirements and campus expectations.
  7. Analyze sales trends, report findings to leadership, and stay updated on current computer/technology products and company communications.
  8. Verify vendor information such as price, availability, or order status by contacting vendors as needed.
  9. Coordinate with the Store Manager and Home Office on promotions, author events, sales, budgets, and procedures, including storewide promotional activities.
  10. Promote cross-merchandising with the Course Materials Department Manager.
  11. Engage with faculty and staff to promote store services.
  12. Collaborate with the store manager and home office to develop strategies to increase sales and profitability.
  13. Stay informed on industry trends through newsletters, reviews, and company updates.
  14. Maintain and acquire necessary computer certifications.
  15. Ensure compliance with WinDSS ticketing processes and accurate merchandise ticketing.
  16. Supervise inventory cycle counts, monitor scanning rates, and drive inventory accuracy improvements.
  17. Liaise with the Home Office regarding Return-to-Vendor (RTV) processes.
  18. Manage customer data, purchase orders, and invoices per store policies.
  19. Ensure timely billing and collection, monitoring accounts receivable.
  20. Maintain organized, stocked shelves that meet Visual Merchandise Standards.
  21. Create and execute promotional event calendars to boost sales, including seasonal and special events.
  22. Manage product returns following RTV procedures.
  23. May act as store manager in their absence or supervise other departments, including opening or closing the store.
  24. Perform other duties as assigned.
