Job summary

Deft is seeking a Consultant (Appian) to design, build, and deliver scalable Appian solutions for diverse clients. The role combines technical delivery with consulting to solve complex business challenges and enable digital transformation.

You will work with clients, architects, and development teams to translate requirements into scalable Appian implementations, following best practices and ensuring high quality outcomes across multiple industries.

Deft is looking for a Consultant (Appian) who combines technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and consulting skills to help organizations solve complex business challenges through scalable Appian solutions.

As a technology consulting firm, Deft delivers digital transformation initiatives across a variety of industries. In this role, you'll collaborate with clients, architects, and development teams to design, build, and deliver high-quality Appian applications. We're looking for professionals with hands-on Appian implementation experience, a strong understanding of Appian best practices, and a passion for delivering client value while continuously growing their expertise.

Delivery & Project Execution

• Contribute to the successful delivery of Appian implementation projects across a variety of industries.
• Support project planning, estimation, and execution activities.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Identify and communicate project risks, blockers, and dependencies to project leadership.
• Deliver high-quality solutions that meet client expectations and business objectives.

Client Consulting

• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand business processes, requirements, and challenges.
• Participate in discovery sessions, requirements gathering, and solution design discussions.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable Appian solutions.
• Provide technical recommendations and implementation updates to clients and internal teams.

Technical Delivery

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using the Appian platform.
• Build scalable applications following Appian development best practices and design standards.
• Configure process models, interfaces, expression rules, records, integrations, reports, and security components.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established development best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot application issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required:

• Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on Appian implementation experience
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience with Agile (Scrum) development and strong foundational knowledge of the full software delivery lifecycle
• Strong understanding of Appian design principles and best practices
• BS in Computer Science or related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate information to a variety of groups at different technical skill levels
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Experience designing and delivering complex, highly-scalable software components
• Capable of efficiently managing competing tasks while adapting to shifting priorities and evolving project needs
• Capable of interpreting and analyzing business requirements and translating them into clear, actionable requirements
• Can successfully develop stories independently, requiring minimal feedback from Peer Reviews and QA
• Able to contribute effectively in both collaborative team settings and when working independently
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, etc.
• Passion for continuous learning and a genuine interest in expanding your expertise across multiple low-code platforms like Power Apps.
• Ability to quickly learn, adapt, and become productive with new technologies, platforms, and business domains.
• Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)

Preferred:

• Experience with low-code platforms, such as Bizagi, Pega, Appian, ServiceNow, etc.
