Job summary

JRD Systems is seeking an experienced Appian Architect to deliver enterprise-grade solutions on the Appian BPM platform. This role targets deep, custom-coded applications, not basic low-code workflows, and requires designing scalable, high‑performance systems in complex environments.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, write advanced Appian SAIL interfaces, process models, and integrations, mentor developers, and drive clean architecture and DevOps‑driven delivery in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 5–7+ years of software development, with 3–5+ years in Appian BPM.
• Experience designing and delivering complex, custom Appian applications beyond low-code.
• Deep knowledge of Appian architecture, custom SAIL, expressions, and Appian Records.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in designing and delivering complex, custom Appian applications — not just low-code workflows.
• Deep understanding of Appian architecture, custom SAIL development, expression rules, and Appian Records.
• Expertise in manual code development within Appian, with advanced knowledge of its internal functions and configuration capabilities.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Appian Certified Lead Developer or higher (Architect preferred).
• Experience with large-scale Appian implementations in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Prior experience leading development teams or serving in a technical leadership role.
