Job summary

gpac in Florida is seeking an Appellate Research & Writing Attorney to provide sophisticated legal research, writing, and litigation support to its attorneys. This role focuses on high-level appellate writing and analysis while helping grow a regular appellate practice within the firm.

You will conduct appellate-level research, draft briefs and motions, assist with complex litigation, and contribute to strategy and briefing from initial research to oral argument.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Bar license.
• Meaningful appellate experience, including appellate briefing and legal research.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong litigation background and understanding of trial-level procedure.
• Experience drafting sophisticated motions, briefs, memoranda, and other substantive legal documents.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and develop compelling legal arguments.
• Interest in building a long-term appellate practice and serving as a key appellate resource for the firm.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sophisticated legal research and prepare appellate-level briefs, memoranda, motions, and other substantive legal filings
• Support attorneys on complex litigation matters through research, legal analysis, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Draft and review appellate briefs, petitions, responses, dispositive motions, and other high-level litigation documents
• Analyze complex legal and procedural issues and develop well-supported arguments for trial and appellate matters
• Provide litigation support to attorneys throughout active cases without being responsible for managing the entirety of each litigation matter
• Assist with appellate matters from initial research and briefing through oral argument and resolution
• Work with firm leadership to help develop and grow a regular appellate practice
