Job summary

Alliance Defending Freedom in Lansdowne, VA seeks an Appellate Fellow to join the Legal Advocacy Team for a yearlong, full-time program. Fellows will assist seasoned practitioners on constitutional cases at federal circuits and the U.S.

Supreme Court, including research, drafting, and argument preparation. The role involves collaborating across disciplines, preparing briefs, attending oral arguments, and contributing to public policy through legal scholarship, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree required.
• Appellate clerkship experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Westlaw.
• Ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to develop and advance appellate advocacy across disciplines.
• Litigate complex appellate matters, research, drafts, and assist with oral arguments.
• Support legislative and policy work aligned with ADF objectives.
• Provide legal advice to individuals, businesses, and organizations.
• Network with allied attorneys and potential allies.
• Travel occasionally.
