Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal customers and suppliers to achieve vehicle harmony.
• Evaluate production parts for compliance with color, grain, gloss, and appearance standards.
• Coordinate interior/exterior appearance reviews in Warren and at plants.
• Document AARs and Vehicle Harmony status; support issue resolution with suppliers.
• Drive process improvements and globalization of appearance processes.
• Communicate across engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and program quality.
• Travel up to 10% domestically/internationally (US, Canada, Mexico).

Appearance Quality Launch Lead### Appearance Quality Launch LeadApply: Onsite: Warren, Michigan, United States of America: Full time: Posted Today: JR-202622779**Job Description****DUTIES**: Work closely with internal customers and external suppliers to achieve overall vehicle harmony. Work on various appearance activities necessary to meet required targets. Evaluate Production Parts for compliance to GM Masters and Standards for Color, Grain, Gloss, and overall quality appearance. Coordinate and conduct Interior and Exterior Vehicle Appearance Harmony Reviews (color/grain/gloss) in Warren and at the Vehicle Assembly Plants. Document program status of Appearance Approval Reports (AAR’s) and Vehicle Harmony. Work with Suppliers, GM Engineering and Supplier Quality to resolve color, gloss and overall appearances issues identified during the reviews for PPAP Appearance Approval (AAR submissions) and Vehicle Harmony. Participate in appearance activities to meet required dates. Communicate information to and from internal and external customer organizations. Coordinate and consult with departments outside Appearance Quality, such as engineering, manufacturing, Supplier Quality and Program Quality. Actively participate in improving processes, identifying inefficiencies and drive process change. Support Globalization of Appearance Harmony Process. 10% domestic and international travel required (with travel to U.S., Canada, and Mexico)**REQUIREMENTS**: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related field of study and Four (4) years of experience as a Quality Lead working in Appearance related products, Creative Design Lead with CMF (Color, Material, Finishes) background, or related role. Four (4) years of experience with the following: Working with color, grain, gloss, and overall vehicle harmony for conformance to meet appearance requirements; Material Engineering including plastics, paint, and metal finishes; Manufacturing processes including plastics, fabric, chrome plating, and decorative paints and finishes; Computer software as it pertains to engineering including Excel (tracking status, pie charts, and bar charts) and PowerPoint; Business Management for Material and Manufacturing areas; and Computer aided design (CAD) and 3D Visualization software.
