Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Must meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
• Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, subtraction.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions with product suggestions.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes.
• Model excellent customer service with friendliness and a clean, orderly department.
• Demonstrate creative merchandising.
• Keep displays fully stocked and conditioned per department standards.
• Be aware of product arrival dates.
• Maintain workload to meet production deadlines.
• Receive and utilize bulletins and announcements to assist with creating additional sales.
• Complete all paperwork per company policy.
• Follow merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor control, expense and safety rules.
• Promote sales through intercom announcements.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to store management.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs to the department or store manager.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks, incidents, and illegal activity.
