Job Description:

The Apparel Sales Associate at Edwin Watts Golf is responsible for promoting and maintaining a store culture consistent with Worldwide Golf’s values, including the “Sure No Problem” philosophy. This means putting the customer first and ensuring a memorable and positive customer experience.

The Apparel Sales Associate provides an exceptional shopping experience, facilitating customer engagement and assisting in the execution of in-store visual merchandising, including signage and displays. Job responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining a general awareness of all golf product knowledge, terminology, merchandise, promotions, and sale advertisements.
2. Maintaining the flow of product to the sales floor and assisting with markdown and clearance management.
3. Evaluating customers’ needs, making recommendations, and applying apparel knowledge to help customers in the decision-making process.
4. Researching merchandise availability via computer database and requisitioning merchandise from the stockroom.
5. Maintaining database and file shipping/receiving records for the department.
6. Recognizing and suggesting ways to improve processes once fully trained.
7. Performing any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

1. Ability to spend work time standing or moving about the departments within the store, including physical activities such as bending, stooping, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, walking, and reaching.
2. Ability to tag, hang, and sensor merchandise.
3. Working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet, and order processing systems.
4. Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Qualifications Desired:

1. 1+ years of experience working in the retail, apparel, or golf industry is preferred (entry-level candidates will also be considered).
2. Golf knowledge/background is a plus but not required.
