Job summary

Brooks Running is seeking a Materials Developer to drive seasonal material development from insights to commercialization. You will partner with a cross‑functional product creation team, manage material specifications, and optimize performance, cost, and quality across knits and wovens.

You will lead documentation, collaborate with mills and suppliers, and contribute to sustainability goals while coordinating with design, development, and product teams in Seattle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, troubleshooting, and testing performance knits and wovens.
• Deep understanding of textile testing methods and material constructions.
• Proficient in PLM systems to build, support, and maintain digital material library.
• Office software proficiency: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Keynote, Illustrator.

Responsibilities

• Partner on material and trim development from concept to production.
• Manage workload per seasonal development calendar.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define materials, trims, performance attributes, and features.
• Evaluate prototypes and wear-test issues throughout development.
• Support the Materials team with special projects and strategic goals.
• Maintain material documentation in Flex system (FDS, TDS, Test Reports).
• Maintain organized material/reference library and approval records.
• Coordinate vendor visits and supplier meetings for the Materials Team.
• Track shipments to support development timelines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
