Job summary

Milwaukee Tool's Jobsite Apparel team seeks a Materials Developer to identify, test, and commercialize innovative textile solutions across our apparel portfolio. You will bridge material science, design, sourcing, and manufacturing to translate product needs into high-performance fabrics.

Collaborate with Design, Technical Design, Product Management, Engineering, suppliers, mills, and testing laboratories to move materials from exploration through validation to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Textile Design, or equivalent.
• Experience with textile development and fabric technology.
• Understanding of testing standards in the textile industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead seasonal sourcing and development of fabrics and trims from concept to approval.
• Lead R&D of new fabric concepts and technologies aligned to user needs and priorities.
• Translate insights from trade shows, supplier visits, and design briefs into material sourcing recommendations.
• Maintain material data in PLM including quality, pricing, MOQs, and lead times.
• Own testing standards and test plans for material performance and compliance.
• Manage supplier and lab testing processes, tracking and follow-ups.
• Communicate test results and escalate risks for resolution.
• Manage material development milestones and cross-functional communication.
• Oversee supplier relationships and material planning for prototypes and bulk production.
• Identify manufacturing risks related to materials and drive mitigation with teams.
