Job summary

Life is Good in Boston seeks a senior apparel designer to lead the design and execution of product categories from concept through production handoff, crafting consumer-driven collections in apparel, accessories, and home.

You will translate consumer insights and brand strategy into seasonal assortments, own color and material directions, and collaborate across teams to bring products to market with strong storytelling and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–6 years of apparel design experience across multiple product categories.
  • Strong proficiency in Centric PLM with product creation, line management, specs, and workflow.
  • Advanced proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and digital sketching to communicate design intent.
  • Excellent hand and technical sketching skills.
  • Understanding of apparel construction, fabrics, trims, prints, washes, and manufacturing.
  • Experience creating seasonal concepts, color palettes, and product stories.
  • Ability to manage multiple categories, calendars, and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Experience collaborating with overseas vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity for trends, materials innovation, and AI-enabled product creation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of assigned product categories from concept through production handoff.
  • Translate consumer insights, market trends, and brand strategy into seasonal product assortments.
  • Own seasonal color, silhouette, material, and detail direction across collections.
  • Create innovative, commercially viable product balancing creativity, quality, margin, and business goals.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, Creative, and Art to bring product to market.
  • Present concepts and recommendations to leadership with confidence and clarity.
  • Collaborate with factories and vendor partners on materials, trims, construction, and fit.
  • Maintain ownership of seasonal calendars with milestones and deliverables.
  • Mentor Associate Designers and interns with guidance and feedback.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product, processes, and team efficiency.
  • Automate tasks and integrate AI tools into workflow; use AI to accelerate research and concept generation.

WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE DONE
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–6 years of apparel design experience, preferably across multiple product categories.
  • Strong proficiency in Centric PLM, including product creation, line management, specifications, and workflow management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and digital sketching, with the ability to clearly communicate design intent through technical flats and presentation-quality renderings.
  • Excellent hand sketching and technical sketching skills.
  • Strong understanding of apparel construction, garment fit, fabrics, trims, print techniques, washes, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience creating seasonal concepts, color palettes, presentation boards, and product stories.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple categories, calendars, and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience collaborating directly with overseas vendors and cross‑functional partners throughout the product creation process.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Curiosity for emerging trends, consumer insights, materials innovation, and AI‑enabled product creation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
