Job summary

NIKE Retail Services is seeking an Apparel Design Director to lead a nimble team shaping Kobe Apparel. This role drives innovative, athlete-inspired product design that blends performance and artistry, translating consumer and athlete insights into compelling stories.

You will oversee end-to-end design from concept to execution, mentor designers, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure the highest standards of craft and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Apparel/Fashion Design or related field.
• 8+ years in a design environment with materials, trims, design and fit.
• Strong knowledge of design, art, and fashion, with a passion for sport and youth culture.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Deep understanding of garment construction, textiles, and trims.
• Ability to build design worlds, mood boards, and presentations.
• Leadership ability to mentor others and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of athlete-informed performance apparel for Kobe Basketball.
• Drive end-to-end design process from research to prototype refinement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners across design, product management, and development.
• Translate insights into innovative product concepts and collections.
• Mentor junior designers and promote creative excellence.
