WHO YOU ARE

You understand that hospitality operations require both art and science. You are passionate about coffee, with a refined palate for espresso and tea, and take pride in energizing your community and ensuring a lively neighborhood atmosphere.

THE ROLE

As a Barista, you will report to the F&B Director and managers, working collaboratively with a team including servers, bartenders, barbacks, dishwashers, cooks, and chefs. A strong background in coffee and tea making is essential. Your role involves creating memorable guest experiences with a friendly, professional attitude, arriving prepared and punctual, and fostering a positive team environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  1. Model the company’s core principles of People, Place, and Character, promoting collaboration and hospitality excellence.
  2. Follow recipes and use accurate measures for consistency.
  3. Ensure accurate cash handling and transaction procedures.
  4. Create lasting impressions on guests through excellent service.
  5. Maintain a clean, organized workspace with respect for guests, colleagues, and equipment.
  6. Provide prompt, attentive service to enhance guest experiences.
  7. Utilize product knowledge to suggest add-ons and educate guests about coffee.
  8. Share your coffee expertise with interested guests.
  9. Participate in daily line-ups and staff meetings to improve team strategies and share feedback.
  10. Report facility issues to management for timely resolution.
  11. Coordinate effectively with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
  12. Comply with hotel policies on non-discrimination, smoking, and drug use, fostering an inclusive environment.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • At least 1 year of experience as a barista in a coffee shop or hotel restaurant.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certification such as TIPS or Food Safe from a reputable organization.
  • Basic math skills for inventory and recipe measurements.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and assist with heavier loads up to 100 lbs with help.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
