AmeriCorps Appalachia CARES is hosting a full-time service opportunity in Tennessee. Members will support housing-related services, education, and community resource efforts to strengthen local housing access and safety across East Tennessee.

Participants will gain job readiness skills, engage with volunteers, and contribute to recovery efforts in areas affected by hurricanes and aging-in-place initiatives for seniors and disabled individuals.

Job description

Appalachia CARES AmeriCorps members will serve with nonprofit organizations in East Tennessee to strengthen communities and expand access to critical housing services. By providing education, resources, and home repairs, member service will directly address the larger goal of affordable, appropriate, and safe housing for all citizens. Member service will also support long term housing recovery in areas affected by Hurricane Helene and Living in Place services for seniors and individuals with disabilities. While filling vital gaps in local services, individual members will build job readiness skills, increase community knowledge, and make meaningful connections.
