The Supervisor, Advanced Practice Professionals (APPs), supervises the APP practice within their program/department, including individual physician assistants and nurse practitioners. This position oversees APP recruitment and performance, orientation, training, coverage, time‑off requests, employee relations, and other related Human Resource issues. In addition, this position serves as an APP practicing medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center (MCC). This position provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise, advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. As a medical provider that is not a physician, but is licensed to diagnose and treat patients under the supervision of a physician, the APP assists physicians in the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients. The APP Supervisor is involved in a wide spectrum of patients with different medical conditions, procedures and co‑morbidities. This position works independently within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s).
In the Breast Oncology Department the APP Supervisor manages the Breast Oncology Advanced Practice Professionals, including individual physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job‑related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
