University of Kentucky seeks a Pediatric Surgery APP to join the UKHC surgical team in Lexington. The role supports care from clinic to OR and discharge, predominantly inpatient with some clinic coverage.
The APP will collaborate with attending physicians, demonstrate evidence-based practice, and ensure safe, high-quality care for pediatric patients and families.

The pediatric surgical APP works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP functions as a member of the surgical management team. In conjunction with the attending the APP will oversee care from clinic to OR/inpatient to discharge and throughout all aspects of the continuum of care. This position will be predominantly an inpatient role with some supportive clinic coverage.
As this is a pediatric service the APP will assist both with patient and family care and help support the whole unit as they move through the UK system. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and ensuring an environment of safe quality care. This position requires systems thinking and high level of clinical skill.
The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
