Job summary

Highlands Oncology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join a compassionate, high-performing oncology team. You will assess patients, perform clinical exams, and intervene as needed, collaborating with oncologists to deliver comprehensive cancer care in a patient-centered setting.

You will have autonomy, strong clinical skills, and the opportunity to contribute across inpatient and outpatient pathways while adhering to state regulations and HIPAA protections.

Qualifications

• Proficient in obtaining HPI/IntervalHistory, medical, social and surgical history; assessment and plan.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms.
• Able to act under stress and emergent situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to oncology/hematology patients in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Provide prompt management of acute symptoms related to disease and/or treatment.
• Work independently while collaborating with Medical Oncologists and other providers.
• Demonstrate knowledge of disease-specific and clinic protocols.
• Consult Social Worker or other Allied Health staff as needed.
• Prescribes medication as per statelicensing guidelines but does not prescribe initial chemotherapy or biotherapy.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
• Act as liaison to consultants, patients, and families regarding disease state, treatment course and overall plan of care.
• Shall act within the lawful limits of Arkansas APRN/PA Collaborative Practice Agreement or PA Protocol.
• Duties may evolve and change as the role develops.

Highlands Oncology began in 1996 with three physicians and a desire to change the face of oncology care in our community. Dr. Malcolm Hayward, Dr. Dan Bradford, and Dr. Thad Beck knew that patients do better at home, in the community where they live and work, and where their support system is already in place. Job Summary:

TheAPPfunctionsasanexpertinpatientassessment,clinicalexams,andappropriateinterventions. The APP will have extensive contact with patients, requiring collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.The APP is dedicated to the provision of competent, compassionate, and ethical care of patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

• Providecomprehensivecaretooncology/hematologypatientsininpatient/outpatient settings.
• Providepromptmanagementofacutesymptomsrelatedtothediseaseand/or treatment.
• Abilitytoworkindependently,whilecollaboratingwithMedicalOncologistsandother providers, as indicated.
• Demonstrateknowledgeofdisease-specificandclinic protocols.
• ConsultSocialWorker orotherAlliedHealthstaffas needed.
• Prescribesmedicationasperstatelicensingguidelinesbutdoesnotprescribeinitial chemotherapy or biotherapy.
• Complywithcompanypoliciesandprocedures,andHIPAA regulations.
• Act as liaison to consultants, patients, and families regarding disease state, treatment course and overall plan of care.
• Shall act within the lawful limits of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing APRN or DNP Collaborative Practice Agreement or the Arkansas State Medical Board PA Protocol.
• Dutiesandresponsibilitieswillcontinuetoevolveandmaychangeasdeemednecessary,andastherole of the APP is further developed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Certifications/Licenses/Education/ Experience in a related field:

• TheAPPhas a minimum of oneormoreyearsofexperiencewithpreferenceformedical oncology or acute care.
• HasappropriatelicensurewiththestateofArkansas.Maintainsacurrent,unencumbered license(s), including DEA.
• Completescontinuingeducation units/credits tomaintainlicensureand certification(s).
• Demonstrateongoingprofessionalgrowththroughparticipationinrelevanteducationand associations.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Pushing and Pulling: Must be able to push and maneuver equipment and patient transport devices.
• Fine Motor Skills: Requires good hand-eye coordination to operate equipment and handle small objects.
• Bending and Reaching: Must bend, stoop, twist, and reach to position patients and operate equipment.
• Ability to lift, move, and assist as needed, often requiring more than 25 pounds.
• Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hand and fingers for operating standard office equipment, clinic devices, and other common tasks associated with clerical and administrative tasks.
