The APP Gastroenterology works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team to provide GI consultation and management of outpatients through the UKHC system. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) functions as a member of the GI practice and acts as the expert to assist with chronic and acute conditions within the outpatient setting. The APP coordinates care for outpatients in the ambulatory setting in the KY Clinic and subspecializes in General Gastroenterological disease states within the GI Division. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and/or nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism in communication, timely and compliant documentation, and ongoing professional development and competency validation.
