**Advanced Practice Provider I - Corridor Health Adult Clinical (Nights)**

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for providing health care for patients in designated primary or specialty areas, including patient diagnoses, treatment, education, and referrals. Serves as a resource and role model for clinical practice, training, evaluation, and direct management of practitioners and students in all areas encompassed by the service line to ensure optimal patient care quality. Assist leadership in assessing, planning, organizing, and implementing designated advanced practice provider activities.

Minimum Specifications
Education
  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): Master's degree in nursing accredited through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN).
Experience

- None

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

- Current employees hired at Parkland before 3/1/2014 may have equivalent education and experience.

Certification/Registration/Licensure
  • Must have current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Military Training Network.
  • Physician Assistant: Current, valid Physician Assistant licensure from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants, and current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner): Current RN licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license, active certification as a Nurse Practitioner by recognized certifying bodies, and licensure as an APRN with authorization to practice as a Family, Adult, Gerontology, or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.
Skills or Special Abilities

- Provides care in accordance with Texas Nursing Practice Act or Medical Board Rules, established protocols, and standards.

- Demonstrates leadership and effective communication skills.

- Knowledge of Parkland policies, structure, and mission.

- Demonstrates patient-centered behaviors.

Responsibilities
  1. Performs clinical duties in designated specialty areas, including history taking, physical exams, assessments, and test ordering.
  2. Records health history, findings, and recommendations accurately; manages time effectively; consults with supervising physicians; refers patients as needed.
  3. Includes patients and families in care planning; educates for self-management and follow-up.
  4. Supports interdisciplinary collaboration for quality care and patient satisfaction.
  5. Stays updated on practice trends; participates in educational activities.
  6. Maintains knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and certifications; develops controls for compliance.
  7. Identifies work process improvements; provides quality customer service.
  8. Assists in developing departmental goals; attends staff meetings.
