Advance Practice Providers
General Description: An Advanced Practice Provider (APP), including physician assistants (P.A.-C) and nurse practitioners (N.P.), works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care in outpatient and/or inpatient settings. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients with acute and chronic needs. Collaborates with administrative, nursing, physician, and academic staff to ensure safe, effective, quality care and supports OU Health’s educational and research missions. Provides care within their scope of practice as defined by applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

For Nurse Practitioners: Active RN and APRN licenses in Oklahoma.
For Physician Assistants: Active PA license and NCCPA certification in Oklahoma.
All must obtain DEA license and CPR, with additional certifications as relevant, within specified timeframes.
