Apigee Developer – Migration Specialist (Apigee Edge to Apigee X)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Apigee Developer to support the migration of APIs from Apigee Edge (Public Cloud) to Apigee X. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Apigee API Proxy, Policies and Shared flows development and migration strategies across Apigee platforms. This role requires the candidate to be able to build and execute automation for migration. The candidate will collaborate closely with end-customer development teams to ensure seamless and secure transitions with minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute API migrations from Apigee Edge to Apigee X.
• Define migration approach suitable for the customer.
• Enrich and execute the automation tools for performing migration.
• Perform Apigee Edge to X data analysis and solution the deprecations.
• Provide guidance / support as defined by the program for customer go-live.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API performance, authentication, or configuration during migration.
• Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams’ post-migration.
Required Skills:
• Strong experience with Apigee Edge and Apigee X, implementation and development
• Around 3+ years of experience in Apigee (Edge / X) development (API Proxies, Policies, Shared Flows, API Products, Apps)
• Around 1+ years of experience with Apigee X.
• Good knowledge of implementing API Security policies within Apigee.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially services related to Apigee X.
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot API transactions within Apigee X or GCP Logging.
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages Node.js required, Python / Shell are nice to have.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
• Ability to work with Agile teams (Scrum / Kanban), either customer-led or internal.
Preferred:
• Apigee X platform hands-on experience.
• GCP certification or Apigee-specific certifications.
