Job summary

Travelport LP is seeking an API Tech Lead for a remote role in the United States. You will oversee architectures, APIs, and integrations, mentoring engineers and ensuring alignment with cloud, security, and operational standards.

You will partner with the Technical Director to guide engineering decisions across travel platforms, APIs, and services, leveraging deep domain knowledge in airline distribution, NDC, and GDS. The role emphasizes collaboration with product and architecture teams.

API Tech Lead | REMOTE | US

How you'll make an impact:

The team delivers platforms, APIs and services supporting shopping, booking, fulfillment, servicing and travel retailing. Working under a Technical Director, the Technical Lead acts as a trusted technology advisor, providing design governance, architecture reviews and travel domain expertise across strategic initiatives.

Your role in action:

Reviewing solution architectures, APIs, integrations and technical designs

• Partnering with the Technical Director to guide engineering decisions
• Applying deep travel industry knowledge across airline distribution, NDC, GDS, booking and servicing domains
• Identifying technical risks, dependencies and scalability concerns
• Mentoring engineers and supporting engineering excellence
• Driving alignment with cloud, security, resiliency and operational standards
• Supporting modernization and platform transformation initiatives
• Collaborating with product, architecture and engineering stakeholders

Someone with: experience leading technical reviews; strong travel industry domain knowledge; experience with Java, APIs, distributed systems, AWS and Kubernetes; ability to mentor engineers; strong communication and stakeholder management skills; understanding of security, scalability, resilience and software quality principles.
