Role: Senior API Developer (Progress Database)

Duration: 3 Month Contract + extensions possible

Location: Remote

Work Authorization: US Citizen, Green Card, or Authorized to Work in the US

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior API Developer with Progress database experience to support ERP integrations and expand our internal API capabilities. This is a specialized role focused on building APIs that connect to an ERP system, which runs on a Progress backend. The ideal candidate has direct hands-on Progress development expertise and can provide technical leadership in this space.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement APIs for ERP integrations within a Progress environment.
• Work with ERP vendor teams and internal architects to extend system capabilities.
• Translate integration requirements into scalable, secure API solutions.
• Provide guidance and best practices for API development specific to Progress systems.
• Collaborate with DBAs, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integrations.
• Deliver technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in API development, with at least 2+ years in Progress environments.
• Proven experience building and maintaining APIs within Progress-based ERP systems.
• Strong SQL and database integration skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (ProfitZoom preferred).
• Ability to work independently and advise on architecture and design decisions.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
