Job summary

East Daley Analytics is seeking a skilled engineer to own a versioned API and its query layer, serving both our dashboards and AI-driven tools. You will ensure robust data contracts, strong uptime, and safe, introspective query surfaces for agent-driven access.

You will collaborate with the Data Team on the SQL foundations and help move dashboards to live pages served by the API, with fast, scalable query capabilities and secure, scalable production deployments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Designed and operated an API other teams consumed: resource modeling, cursor pagination, sparse fieldsets, versioning, deprecation without breaking live clients.
• Maintained a schema across language boundaries: additive evolution, versioned change, no rename-and-redeploy-everything.
• Golden-file and snapshot testing over generated output.
• Daily AI-assisted development to increase production velocity and QA/QC abilities.
• End-to-end ownership: able to ship ambiguous requests.
• Bachelor's in CS or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the API and the query layer, with versioning and uptime guarantees.
• Support the front end by ensuring API provides needed data and is readable in the front-end codebase.
• Run it in production with edge caching, auth against identity provider, rate limiting, observability, and non-disruptive deployment.
• Collaborate with the Data Team on SQL foundations, including procedures, semantic views, and filter architecture.
