Job Description

Are you a tech enthusiast with a knack for SQL, API integration, and front-end development? We're looking for a versatile TMS Product & API Integration Specialist to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance our Transportation Management System (TMS) through seamless API integrations, leveraging your SQL skills for data management and troubleshooting. You will also work on data transformation and automation tasks using Python, and increase customer satisfaction by supporting the development of GTMS’s online Customer Portal.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the setup and integration of REST and SOAP APIs to optimize our transportation management system's functionality and connectivity.
  2. Manage the upgrade process from SOAP to REST APIs as needed.
  3. Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and maintain API endpoints, ensuring effective communication between software components.
  4. Use SQL for bulk data loading, troubleshooting data issues, and ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  5. Conduct QA testing of API implementations to validate functionality, performance, and security.
  6. Create comprehensive documentation for API configurations, usage, and troubleshooting.
  7. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for TMS issues, addressing challenges promptly to minimize downtime.
  8. Assist in creating and refining reports for the customer portal to provide valuable insights to clients.
  9. Participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards and improve team practices.
  10. Utilize Python for data transformation, automation, and generating customer email reports.
  11. Manage project tasks and priorities within the Costa Rican TMS Development Team to ensure efficient deployment.

Skills Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in setting up, configuring, and testing REST and SOAP APIs, with hands-on experience in API design and implementation.
  2. Strong SQL skills for data loading and troubleshooting, with the ability to write effective queries.
  3. Experience with React and JSX for building and maintaining components in a customer-facing web portal.
  4. Proficiency with Git and GitHub, including branch management and version control for smooth deployments.
  5. Proactive problem-solver with a history of successful API implementations in production environments.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for conveying technical concepts and collaborating with teams.
  7. Experience in transportation or logistics is a plus.

Educational Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Previous relevant experience is preferred.
  3. Certifications are considered advantageous.

Salary:

The starting salary will depend on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
