Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking an experienced API 653 Tank Inspector for a position in Westlake, LA. This role performs non-destructive testing and inspection duties per reference codes, under close supervision and reports to the Site Manager.

Essential qualifications include API 653 certification, TWIC, and strong NDE background. Candidates must be able to conduct monthly inspections, generate detailed reports, and coordinate with engineers and repair teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have valid NDE certifications and experience.
  • TWIC required.
  • API 653 certification is required.
  • API certifications (API 510/570) recommended.
  • NDE background preferred.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly compliance inspections on time, internal and external.
  • Generate inspection reports from inspections and document repair recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Fixed Engineers to generate repair scopes.
  • Work with repair companies to follow and document repairs.
  • Assist in NDE duties, equipment setup and calibration.
  • Apply testing criteria per procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by certified inspector/technician.

Turner Specialty Services is looking for an experienced API 653 Tank Inspector for a position in the Westlake, LA area. This role will perform duties associated with NDE of materials in accordance to referencing code. Non-exempt role; Reports to Site Manager; Close Supervision assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications
  • Valid NDE certifications and relevant experience
  • TWIC required
  • API 653 certification is required
  • Additional API certifications are recommended: API 510/570
  • NDE background preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, turnaround environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
Functional Requirements
  • Must be able to complete Monthly Compliance Inspections on time.
  • Monthly Compliance Inspections will consist of performing Internal and External Inspections.
  • Will be required to generate inspection reports from the Internal and external inspections performed.
  • Will be required to generate Repair Recommendations from the Internal and external inspections performed.
  • Will be required to work with Fixed Engineers to generate repair scopes.
  • Will be required to work with repair companies to follow and document all repairs
  • Assists in performing duties associated with NDE of materials in accordance with reference code
  • Assist with nondestructive testing equipment set-up
  • Assist in calibrating nondestructive testing equipment
  • Assist in applying testing criteria in accordance with procedures and standards
  • Assist in performing other job-related tasks as assigned by certified inspector/technician
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement
