Apartment Maintenance Technician (Req #915)

Summary

Responsible for the overall and day-to-day maintenance of the apartment community under the direction of the Service Manager or Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Perform light maintenance on all appliances, electrical repairs, plumbing work, and carpentry tasks.
  • Replace broken glass, fixtures, appliances, and perform painting and custodial work.
  • Assist in groundskeeping, repair concrete, masonry, roof, fencing, and perform light extermination services.
  • Participate in emergency standby schedule and refurbish apartments before occupancy.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and perform scheduled equipment maintenance.
  • Know water, gas, and fixture cut-offs, assist in apartment inspections, and adhere to resident education and property standards.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years related experience or training. Skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, refurbishing, cleaning, air conditioning, and appliance repair are a plus.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, write routine reports, and perform basic math and reasoning skills. Physical ability to perform labor, lift up to 50 pounds, and meet vision requirements.
