Job summary

Greenbrier Management Company in Virginia is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle general upkeep across the apartment community, including repairs, troubleshooting, turnover, and preventative maintenance. This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and requires the ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in apartment maintenance, basic electrical and plumbing knowledge, and a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years experience in apartment maintenance including basic electrical & plumbing diagnostics/repair.
Be a team player in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Have a positive attitude & effective communication skills.
Enjoy helping people.
Have basic tools for the trade.
Provide a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Flexibility to respond to off-hour emergencies.
HVAC certification preferred (CFC Universal).

Responsibilities

Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure maintenance functions are performed properly and promptly.
Ensure effective and timely follow up with residents, vendors and property management team on all maintenance services provided.
Respond to all on-call emergencies in a timely manner.
Complete and follow up on all open unresolved tickets.
Inspect grounds, buildings, and other community features daily to identify maintenance tasks and ensure curb appeal.
Follow policies relating to fair housing, OSHA, pool and safety standards.
Other tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
