Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform routine upkeep and repairs on buildings and grounds at our Sterling, IL site. You will follow safety standards, manage preventive maintenance, and assist in resident room turnover as part of a dedicated team.

The role requires 3–5 years of maintenance experience, high school diploma or equivalent (trade school preferred), and a valid IL vehicle insurance.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience preferred; HS diploma not required if experienced.
• Trade or technical school training preferred.
• Access to insured vehicle with IL minimum insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, janitorial duties, and repair of buildings and grounds.
• Report needs for major repairs.
• Follow safety, licensing, regulatory and agency requirements.
• Implement and manage preventive maintenance program.
• Assist in resident apartment or room turnover preparations.
• Perform on-call service, as scheduled, and respond to emergencies.
• Document work orders and complete reporting functions in compliance with requirements.
