Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to uphold daily property operations and safeguard physical assets across our Alabama communities. You’ll perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety checks while supporting on-call needs and occupant safety.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, maintenance experience, and the ability to lift heavy objects.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical maintenance skills for building systems.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and safety procedures.
• Experience in preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Prior maintenance or service technician experience.
• HVAC or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and equipment for repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Enforce maintenance policies and safety standards.
• Ensure properties are safe for occupants.
• Prepare vacated spaces for new tenants.
• Check electrical wiring and safety systems monthly.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and tools.
