Job summary

Fairstead is a purpose-driven real estate firm managing affordable housing nationwide. The Service Manager leads maintenance teams, oversees repair and installation of mechanical equipment, and ensures safety standards across Fairstead properties.

With a focus on operational efficiency and resident outcomes, the role requires hands-on maintenance leadership, strong trade skills, and collaboration with property teams to sustain high-quality housing assets.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in property maintenance.
• Proficient in a specific trade with general maintenance and repair skills.
• Knowledge and terminology of building and mechanical trades.
• Strong knowledge of accident and safety precautions.
• Experience using a variety of tools and equipment.
• Excellent organization and project management skills.
• Able to implement and improve policies and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Yardi and RealPage is a plus.

• Supervision of other maintenance employees.
• Take a leadership position on special projects.
• Perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair tasks.
• Maintain awareness and enforce safety precautions.

The Service Manager manages and supervises the repair and maintenance of property buildings. They ensure the timely installation of mechanical equipment and upkeep of Fairstead’s property to ensure operational effectiveness. The Service Manager oversees operational efficiency of all electrical equipment and mechanical systems through inspection and repair and ensure that property’s premises and facilities are kept clean and hygienic in alignment with Fairstead safety policies and standards.
