Job summary

Weidner Apartment Homes is seeking a Grounds Technician to maintain the appearance and safety of our Charlotte community. You will perform daily grounds tasks, assist with vacant unit preparation, and coordinate with vendors to keep common areas clean and welcoming.

The role emphasizes physical stamina, reliability, and strong customer service when interacting with residents and teammates. Experience with property software (Yardi, HappyCo, Paycom) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 80 pounds/36.3 kilograms.
• Able to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with property software is a plus (Yardi/HappyCo/Paycom).
• Authorized to work and pass background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily grounds maintenance including trash pickup and disposal.
• Maintain pet waste stations and clean common areas.
• Inspect and repair irrigation systems as needed.
• Clean pools and monitor chemical balance.
• Water plants manually when required.
• Assist with vacant unit prep and coordination with maintenance teams.
• Support vendors and keep shop/custodial areas organized.

CityPark ViewPosition Summary:As a Grounds Technician, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep and appearance of your community in order to maintain a welcoming environment for residents and guests. A successful Grounds Technician is able to manage their time effectively, is detail oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, this position needs to be accountable and attentive to provide excellent customer service skills when interacting with residents, associates and vendors.Primary Responsibilities:Perform daily grounds maintenance of the property including picking up and disposing of all trash, pet defecation removal, maintain pet waste stations, sweeping walkways, and snow removal, where applicableMaintain all trash rooms/areas for cleanliness and functionality; ensure trash chutes are operable and working, unclogging as neededClean pools as directed, monitor chemical balance, maintain logs as required by city ordinances, when applicableConduct inspections and routine repairs of the irrigation system, when applicableAs requested, assist Maintenance and Housekeeping teams preparing vacant apartment homes; trash out vacant units, etcAccompany vendors to vacant and/or occupied units, as neededClean windows, breezeways, all amenities/common areas, model homes and offices, complete building repairs/paint and replace exterior/ interior light bulbs as neededWater plants manually, as neededAssist team with distributing resident correspondence and notices while maintaining privacy of confidential and sensitive informationMonitor supplies and maintain equipmentEnsure maintenance shop/custodial area is clean, organized, and professionally presentable at all timesMust utilize Weidner issued cell phone and specified apps as part of your daily responsibilitiesBenefits & PerksAt Weidner Apartment Homes, we value our team members and offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and career growth.
