Job summary

Weidner Apartment Homes is seeking a Service Technician 1 to prepare vacant apartments for occupancy and deliver timely, quality maintenance.

You will work on painting, drywall repairs, electrical/plumbing repairs, and general facility upkeep across occupied and vacant units, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years maintenance experience required.
  • 1+ years painting and drywall repairs preferred.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude essential.
  • Able to lift up to 80 pounds and climb ladders.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Good command of English; able to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy: painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
  • Perform basic system repairs on electrical, plumbing, hot water heaters, HVAC, and appliances.
  • Carry out carpentry, drywall, and interior/exterior painting tasks as needed.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and participate in property improvements.
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks and respond to service requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain pools, grounds, logs, and comply with city guidelines where applicable.
  • Travel between properties using company-issued apps and personal vehicle as required.
  • On-call rotation participation and teamwork across residents, associates, and vendors.

CityPark ViewPosition Summary:As Service Technician 1, you are a multi-faceted maintenance professional responsible for preparing vacant apartments for occupancy and for providing quality service in a timely manner to our residents and the community. Each day, you will both work in vacant apartments and occupied apartments, performing tasks including painting, drywall repairs and executing maintenance repairs requested by the company. In addition, this role is responsible for conducting efficient daily maintenance tasks while increasing the asset value and integrity of your community. You are able to work independently in all aspects of your role and at a consistent, quality pace. A successful Service Technician 1 is able to manage their time effectively, is detail oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, this position needs to be accountable and attentive to provide excellent customer service skills when interacting with residents, associates and vendors.Primary Responsibilities:Prepare all vacant apartments for occupancy including but not limited to: painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairsPerform basic system repairs on electrical, plumbing, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, appliances, etc.Perform detailed work with carpentry, drywall repairs and interior/exterior painting, etc.Learn to distinguish when full-paint or touch-up paint is needed, as well as knowledge and ability to identify correct paint sheen and colorPerform repairs on plank, vinyl and carpet flooringPerform service requests for residents daily and timely with moderate supervision and assistancePerform system repairs on electrical, plumbing, boilers, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, appliances, etc.Perform detailed work with carpentry, drywall repairs and interior/exterior painting, etc.Perform preventative maintenance as assignedClean pools as directed, monitor chemical balance, maintain logs as required by city ordinances, when applicablePerform daily grounds maintenance, including trash removal, pet waste disposal, maintaining pet waste stations, sweeping walkways, and snow removal, where applicableParticipate in property improvements and preventive maintenance scheduled tasks, promptlyMust utilize Weidner issued cell phone and specified apps as part of your daily roleMust use personal vehicle to go between properties as assigned during work hoursMust take part in the on-call rotation, as scheduledBenefits & PerksAt Weidner Apartment Homes, we value our team members and offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and career growth.
