Apartment Community Custodian (Req #916)

Summary

Responsible for maintaining all common areas of the apartment community in a clean and attractive condition and for turning apartments between residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning of Rental Center, Recreation Building, pool area, exercise facility, restrooms, and jacuzzi area, including trash removal, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning of exterior and interior windows.
• Cleaning laundry rooms, including trash removal, sweeping, mopping, wiping down machines and surfaces, and cleaning windows.
• Patrolling grounds each morning for litter removal.
• Cleaning entryways and stairwells, removing leaves, debris, and cobwebs from corners and recesses.
• Sweeping and blowing off sidewalks and parking areas, including dumpster areas; moving garbage bins on pickup days.
• Performing watering as required daily.
• Exterior painting, repairs, and pool/spa maintenance.
• Interior apartment cleaning and painting to prepare units for new residents.
• Maintaining property to LPR standards.

Education/Experience

Minimum one year of related experience and/or training or equivalent education and experience.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret invoices, safety rules, manuals; write routine reports.

Math Ability

Ability to perform basic arithmetic and calculations involving rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense and carry out instructions; solve problems involving concrete variables.

Physical Demands

Frequent physical labor, talking, hearing; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; close vision and focus adjustment required.
