Job Description Summary

The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.

1. Operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, backhoes, etc.
2. Familiarize with and follow the manuals for the equipment being operated.
3. Perform daily equipment checks and follow the Daily Equipment Checklist.
4. Communicate with Project Manager/Foreperson regarding daily job specifications; operate equipment safely and responsibly.
5. Complete pre-start procedures, including checking fluid levels and noting service due dates.
6. Coordinate with supervisors regarding production expectations and materials being moved.
7. Be aware of other equipment on site and coordinate operations accordingly.
8. Position equipment for easy access by the Equipment Mover when possible.
9. Maintain equipment cleanliness to promote safety and ease of inspection.
10. Follow directions accurately.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
12. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Work Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

1. Pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
2. Pass a physical exam to confirm fitness for work.
3. Provide valid documentation for I-9 verification.
4. Maintain professionalism and courtesy with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
5. Report to work on time.
6. Be willing to work long hours when necessary.
7. Adhere strictly to safety procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
8. Work well in a team and assist with additional duties as needed.
9. Complete safe driver training and hold a valid driver’s license with a good record.
10. May need to acquire a CDL if required.
11. Be at least 18 years old.
12. Work in a safety-sensitive environment.

Education/Experience

Candidates should:

1. Communicate effectively with team members and the public.
2. Understand materials and equipment required for tasks.
3. Have related construction experience (preferred).
