Brooklyn LAB is seeking an AP US History Teacher to join a transformation in education where each scholar is seen, known, and heard. Our extended school day and year support growth, and teachers collaborate weekly with coaches to refine practice.

The role emphasizes alignment with AP standards, differentiation, and a commitment to college readiness for diverse scholars in a high-expectation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the subject area; Master’s degree preferred.
• New York State teaching certification or willingness to obtain.
• Proven record of academic achievement as student and educator.
• At least two years of experience working with students.
• Experience teaching in urban and/or low-income areas preferred.
• Commitment to LAB’s mission and teamwork.
• Interest in special education or ESOL certification when possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction aligned with the Common Core and AP Standards.
• Internalize the provided curriculum to prepare every student for high school graduation and college success.
• Differentiate instruction using small-group work to support all scholars.
• Utilize formative and summative assessments to inform and improve instruction.
• Lead and own advisories addressing scholars' social-emotional needs.
