Qualifications

• AP Spanish teaching at high school level.
• Clearances: Act 34, Act 151, FBI Fingerprint Clearance and Act 126.

Responsibilities

• Genuine liking of teenager and understanding of their development.
• Present lessons in a comprehensive and engaging manner using a variety of tools and methods to enable learning.
• Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning.
• Administer meaningful assessments that measure student comprehension.
• Understand and support Grier’s school policies and procedures.
• Willingness to follow directions and to think outside of the box.
• Ability to adapt to teaching styles and materials.
• Enthusiasm for teaching as a profession and for the material and skills being taught.
• Six weekend duties, in addition to Opening Weekend, Parent’s Weekend, and Graduation.
• Perform all other duties as required.
• Maintain channels of communication between Learning Skills faculty, private tutor, and student support consultant.
• Maintain a Canvas dashboard for each course taught and update it weekly.
• Update homework sheets weekly.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and stakeholders and participate in meetings.
• Create, plan, and execute in-class and outdoor activities promoting learning.
• Maintain an inviting learning environment that meets school guidelines.
• Check Grier email daily.
• Attend department meetings and faculty meetings.
• Attend activities and events in evenings and weekends as assigned.
