Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient team. You will work under physician leadership to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment and evaluation of patients in an outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities include conducting history and physical exams, forming treatment plans with physicians, coordinating care and triage calls, and educating patients about conditions and medications.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant credentialed in Ohio.
• Current Ohio Registered Nursing License.
• Master’s degree in nursing or PA program completion.
• Prescriptive Authority certification.
• Knowledge of triage procedures with clinic/urgent care experience.
• Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examinations on new and return patients; establishes presumptive diagnosis and initial workup.
• Collaborates with physicians to formulate treatment plans and follow-up.
• Conducts comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develops patient care plans; reviews medications.
• Evaluates outcomes of care and suggests changes to nursing approach as needed.
• Triages clinic patient calls; notifies physician and coordinates follow-up per provider instructions.
