D.O.M. magazine in Butler, PA is seeking a skilled A P Mechanic to join our shop. The role focuses on disassembly, inspection, and assembly of aircraft engines, with strong emphasis on safety and quality.

A valid A P license, five years of aviation experience, the ability to read diagrams, and willingness to work flexible hours are required. This is a contract-to-hire, on-site position with competitive pay.

Job description

Job Title: A P Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled A P Mechanic to join our team in the Prime Turbines Butler HSI/RP shop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and assembly of aircraft engines, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble aircraft engines.
  • Operate tools and equipment for maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Read and interpret aircraft diagrams and schematics.
  • Maintain safety standards and a clean work environment.
  • Coordinate daily tasks and report progress to the Site Manager.
  • Use computers for documentation and scheduling.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces as needed.
  • A P License is required.
  • Five (5) years of aviation-related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of engine repair, aircraft engine maintenance, and engine overhaul.
  • Experience with PT6A engines is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft diagrams, charts, and schematics.
Additional Skills Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with Pratt Whitney engines is a plus.
  • Must have own tools -- anything specialized will be provided.
  • Basic personal computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when deadlines are close. (Evenings, weekends, and overtime)
  • Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.

Work Environment

Work in a hangar environment, supporting safety initiatives, safe work practices, and compliance. Job Type Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Butler, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
