The Agency of Transportation's (AOT) Environmental Policy and Sustainability Program is seeking a high-performing, multi-tasking individual to launch and manage sustainability initiatives.
There is an evolving and growing need for sustainability to be considered and fostered in the transportation sector. This often generates the need to establish, launch, implement and evaluate new ideas. The focus areas evolve over time as new programs emerge from laws passed by the General Assembly and the Governor, policies by Administration or Agency leadership, or as the result of federal laws and policies. This position, AOT Manager II - Environmental Policy & Sustainability (Job Requisition #55853), is open to all State employees and external applicants.
Duties are performed in office and field settings. Incumbents should possess private means of transportation. Attendance at public meetings and hearings is required. Evening or weekend work may be required.
Associate Degree AND five (5) years or more of management experience in one or more the following areas (a) development of program rules and policies; (b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans: (c) program evaluation; or (d) budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning or a combination thereof.
OR
High school diploma or equivalent AND seven (7) years or more of management experience in one or more the following areas (a) development of program rules and policies; (b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans: (c) program evaluation; or (d) budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning or a combination thereof.
Note: Some positions may require registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
