AOG Mechanic (Avionics Tech with A&P License)
Inspect, modify, and repair aircraft at maintenance bases and remote locations. Troubleshoot technical discrepancies and execute repairs on company aircraft. Provide guidance to entry-level and onsite contract mechanics on basic tasks and troubleshooting. Proficient in using electronic test equipment, voltage/amperage measuring devices, recording devices, and navigation troubleshooting tools.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot technical discrepancies and execute repairs on company aircraft.
- Perform aircraft inspections according to company procedures.
- Use electronic test equipment, voltage or amperage measuring devices, recording devices, and navigation troubleshooting equipment proficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical orders.
- Inspect and assist in maintaining company equipment and tooling.
- Collaborate with contract maintenance personnel as part of a team.
- Follow safety protocols, maintain good shop practices, and uphold cleanliness standards.
- Report discrepancies found during inspections to Maintenance Control and follow troubleshooting and repair instructions.
- Ensure all aircraft documentation is completed accurately according to company and FAA procedures prior to aircraft departure.
- Guide mechanics on advanced tasks.
- Organize daily tasks and coordinate inspections and repairs of aircraft.
- Manage materials and tooling requirements for shifts.
- Perform manual and aircraft parts inventories as needed.
- Assist other departments to ensure timely aircraft departures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 7+ years of maintenance experience on transport category aircraft (preferably Boeing series such as 737, 777, 747-400, 747-8), with RII authorization.
- Unrestricted engine run qualifications on 737, 777, and 747 aircraft.
- Formal training in advanced systems/avionics on 737, 777, and 747 aircraft.
- Valid passport and ability to travel for AOG recovery and special projects.
- Borescope qualification on CFM, Pratt & Whitney, or GE-90 engines.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
