Responsibilities

The Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) Coordinator is responsible for development, coordination and on-going monitoring of the antimicrobial stewardship program across the designated region. The ASP coordinator will work with the Regional Director of Clinical Pharmacy and the ASP Medical Director to connect the infection control departments, infectious disease departments, and related committees to optimize the use of anti-infectives across the system. This position will perform a combination of clinical, coordination, clinical surveillance, and logistic pharmacy services necessary for the provision of care in the area of infectious disease. To accomplish this objective, the pharmacist shall interact with other members of the health care team to proactively address medication therapy issues, review/surveille anti-infective medication use data, and develop and assist in project development. This position will also promote the safe, effective, and fiscally responsible use of anti-infective medications, act as the Chair/Co-Chair of the System Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee for the region, and provide mentorship/assistance to the other Clinical Pharmacists in Infectious Diseases in the region.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

Required qualifications:

1. Current state Registered Pharmacist License.2. B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD degree required.

3. PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required (significant experience may be considered in lieu of residency)

4. Minimum of:

a. 5 years of significant direct patient care experience in infectious diseases; OR

b. PGY-2 Pharmacy Practice Residency and/or fellowship training in the area of Infectious Diseases plus 2 years of direct patient care experience in infectious diseases

5. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Preferred qualification:

1. Board Certification in Infectious Diseases (BCIDP) preferred.

2. Experience as a pharmacy residency preceptor in the area of Infectious Diseases preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $121k to $175k. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
