A leading school district in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time, tenure track position. The ideal candidate will collaborate with general education teachers, assess student progress, and foster an inclusive classroom environment. Responsibilities include adapting lesson plans, participating in IEP meetings, and using technology to enhance learning. This role is crucial for supporting students with diverse learning needs and ensuring equitable access to education.
We are looking for a conscientious and collaborative Special Educator to join our Special Services department. A Special Education Teacher plays a crucial role in the education system, dedicated to students with diverse learning needs. The primary goal is to ensure students with diverse learning needs receive equitable access to education, specialized instruction, and necessary accommodations to succeed academically.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Collaborate and modify general education lesson plans
Assess students regularly and provide meaningful feedback to promote growth
Possess the ability to collaborate with co-teachers to deliver engaging lessons and adapt to students’ needs in an inclusive learning setting
Integrate technology and multimedia into lessons
Foster a positive classroom community and manage student behavior effectively
Communicate with parents about student progress
Collaborate with other teachers and staff
Participate in IEP meetings
Expertise in differentiated instruction and universal design for learning (UDL).
Ability to use and integrate assistive technology in the classroom.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Empathy and the ability to build relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Special Educationor related field
Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped
HQT in Science preferred
Teaching experience preferred
Ability to incorporate technology into instruction
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
