Provide instructional support to any and all students, and/or a specific student or group of students as assigned. Instructional Assistants may be used in any classroom situation under the immediate and direct supervision of a certified professional to perform those tasks specified in the duties and responsibilities of this job description. The design, direction and evaluation of the teaching/learning process must be done by a professional employee. The Instructional Assistant is under the supervision of the certified professional in charge of the assignment and to the Building Principal. The Instructional Assistant may monitor student behavior through report, but cannot be directly involved in disciplinary procedures. The Instructional Assistant will be evaluated by the certified professional in charge of the specific assignment and the Building Principal.
Special Education Instructional Assistants must reach a qualified status as required by Pennsylvania regulations. Therefore, all Instructional Assistants/PCAs employed by Central York School District are required to meet one of the following qualifications:
$15.95–$20.70 (Step placement shall be based on years of service recognized by employer)
