Job summary

The Williamson Central School District is seeking a probationary instructional aide at the High School, starting 9.1.26. You will work with individual pupils or groups on special instructional projects, providing information to teachers to develop learning experiences, and assist with instructional resource use and materials.

You will plan lessons with classroom teachers, assist with educational support for identified special education students, offer behavioral support when disruptions occur,

Qualifications

• Certification in Technology Education for grades 7–12 is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with pupils or groups on instructional projects as defined by teachers.
• Provide information about pupils to assist teachers in learning experiences.
• Aid pupils in using instructional resources and help develop materials.
• Participate in in-service training programs as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards expected of teachers.
• Assist in related instructional work and evaluation as required by teachers.
• Plan lessons and units with classroom teachers.
• Assist with educational support for identified special education students.
• Offer behavioral support to identified students during disruptions.
• Monitor identified students in the cafeteria as needed.
• Carry out other duties assigned by Administration and the Board of Education.

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Working with individual pupils or groups of pupils on special instructional projects as defined by classroom teachers.

2. Providing the teacher with information about pupils, which will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning experiences.

3. Assisting pupils in the use of available instructional resources, and assisting in the development of instructional materials.

4. Participating in in-service training programs as assigned.

5. Maintaining the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully certified teachers.

6. Assisting in related instructional work and evaluation as required by teachers.

7. Planning lesson and units in conjunction with the classroom teachers.

8. Assist with educational support and classroom transitions of identified special education students.

9. Offer behavioral support to identified students when disruptions occur.

10. Assist monitoring the identified students in the cafeteria on a regular/as needed basis.

11. Carrying out any other assigned duties deemed appropriate by the Administration and the Board of Education.
